Colorbond is a steel fence panel with a baked-on factory colour. It does not need staining, it will not rot at the base, and the colour is part of the panel rather than a coat sitting on top of it, so there is nothing to repaint as it ages.

We build it the same way we build cedar: proper posts, and a kickboard along the bottom so the steel never sits in wet ground. You can see that detail in the photos below. It is also the reason a steel fence follows a slope cleanly, stepping down panel by panel instead of leaving gaps underneath.
